On March 4, 2015, Zambia was given a shock by Zambia Reports when they stated that the Finance Bank of Zambia was going to withdraw their listing process from the Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE). The article was framed in such a manner that it not only made it hard for Finance Bank Zambia to operate in the local market, but also looked forward to create a rift between the Finance Bank Chairman, Dr. Rajan Mahtani and the President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.

However, none of the allegations that were presented in the article was true and there is a confirmation that the Finance Bank Zambia is continuing with its listing process. The news which was published by Zambia Reports was another instance where the conspirators had targeted Dr. Rajan Mahtani and made him a victim of malicious stories.

Zambian Eye, one of the most trusted news portal in Zambia, had also published the similar story that hinted on Finance Bank’s delisting, but on realizing the truth they had immediately removed the previous content and replaced the same with an apology. Sadly, Zambia Reports continue to hold on to their false article with an intent to mislead people. It would be interesting to find in upcoming days whether Zambia Reports will realize its mistake or continue to support the conspirators.
