The above words holds impeccably true for Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the serving Chairperson of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory. Dr. Mahtani, who has been serving the Zambian nation selflessly despite negative rumors and bad publicity that were rampant last year, is finally reaping the benefits of his good work. On Thursday, 15th Jan 2015, the Zambezi Bureau of Standards (ZABS) awarded Zambezi Portland ISO (International Standard Organization) certificate or popularly known as ISO 9001:2008. The prestigious certification is a big boost to the current operations of the factory. Dr. Rajan Mahtani announced that this certification in quality management will open up global and regional opportunities for the cement factory. Apart from the above, he also confirmed that the certification will be extremely beneficial for the firm in planning for future as well as successful execution of the strategies aimed at enhancing the current operations.
The move was even applauded by the chairperson of the ZABS board, David Nawa who quoted that awarding the certification to ZPC is a great achievement and will be beneficial not only for the cement factory but for his own institution too.
Adding to its successful steak, Dr. Mahtani also initiated another strategic business mantra, ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning for ZPC. According to Dr. Mahtani, the ERP will ensure successful integration of external and internal information management which in turn will reduce the operation cycle significantly.
The event truly highlights the level of dedication and commitment Dr. Rajan Mahtani shares with the people of Zambia. By God’s grace, Zambia has seen steep growth which is expected to continue and flourish in future.
