Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is certainly a happy person now. After several decades of dedication, self-less acts, philanthropic and charitable contributions, he was finally recognised at an international level. This recognition came in the form of ‘Best of Africa’ awards by Forbes Connect. At the 2021 Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony, Dr. Mahtani was awarded with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was presented with this award for his significant contributions towards the banking industry of Zambia.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony is usually held at New York, US. However, this year’s award ceremony was conducted virtually as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was among the eminent people recognised for their contributions including leadership in philanthropy and business. Furthermore, Dr. Mahtani was the only businessman from Zambia who was not only invited as a honorary speaker at the FIN roundtable conference, but was also the only businessman and philanthropist from entire Zambia who received the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards.
Dr. Mahtani was conferred with this award by the esteemed members of Forbes business and the ceremony took place during the FIN (Foreign Investment Network) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. Several notable leaders and visionaries graced the event, including international business community members, entrepreneurs, opinion leaders, politicians, policy makers, religious leaders, international investors as well as media partners. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ is among the most anticipated and highly regarded corporate awards in Africa. The main reasons are the brand name ‘Forbes’ associated with it and then the rigorous selection process.
