Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has once again defeated corruption through his determination and trust in the Zambian Legal system. The latest news from the centre is that the Lusaka High Court has turned down state’s application for a leave to appeal in the Supreme Court in regard to signature forgery case of 2012. The Lusaka High Court Judge Mwiinde Siavwapa stated the appeal has not been granted because the ground of appeal was meritless and frivolous.
Earlier on June 25 2015. Dr. Rajan Mahtani had obtained the permission to get a judicial review from the same court and it was Mwiinde Siavwapa who had ensured that justice continues to prevail in Zambia and the rest of the Africa. As of now, all criminal proceedings with respect to the 2012 share forgery case has been put on a stay along with the order of the DPP.
Dr. Mahtani was also spontaneous to mention that his arrest on June 2 2015 was purely based on abuse of the court’s process because in 2012 the case was confirmed to be permanently closed by the Attorney General. However, with the help of corruption and monetary influence the conspirators were successful in reopening the case and got Dr. Rajan Mahtani arrested.
An article on Zambian Watchdog, an eminent news portal cited the series of harassment which Dr. Mahtani had gone through. The conspirators have not left even the slightest of respect and have tried to ensure that maximum damage is done to the reputation of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. In their quest for the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory, the conspirators have sacrificed their morals, respect and dignity. Having lost the appeal, it would be interesting to see what the conspirators will do next- defame the Lusaka High Court Judge as well?
