Portland Cement Zambia suffers in the hands of the Ventriglias

The Ventriglia family has made a Mafia Style comeback in Africa ever since their deportation got lifted in 2015. The first thing that they did was to take over Portland Cement Zambia with the help of hired goons and establish an empire for themselves. Irrespective of showing injunctions from the High Court, the Italian Mafias took over the factory and overthrew the existing management.

Life in Portland Cement Zambia after the departure of Finsbury Investments and Dr. Rajan Mahtani has come to a complete chaos. The workers of the factory are finding it hard to secure their jobs along with facing the problem of irregular salary payment. The factory workers have expressed serious disinterest in working with Portland Cement Zambia as employee abuse is a common sighting.

A worker of the factory, commented, “I have been here for the past 5 years and in those five years I have never seen something this bad. The working conditions here are extremely dangerous. A lot of my friends face injury on a regular basis. Added to the misery is the termination of 47 workers. The company thinks that they are redundant. But the truth is that they don’t have sufficient jobs as the whole business is on a downfall.”

The statement clearly indicates life at Portland Cement Zambia has completely changed in the past few months. The cash box which was once full now holds a few notes and the workers of the factory are starting to lose faith in the factory. The Labor Union of the factory has become a sham because all decisions are taken by the management group only. With growing casualties and continuous oppression, it has become very difficult for Africa’s second largest cement plant to operate with the same zeal as it used to under the leadership of Dr. Rajan Mahtani.
