Every time a case is registered for an establishment such as company, factory or venture, losses are incurred by both parties fighting for that establishment. However, the major loss occurs to the establishment itself and the people whose livelihood is associated with it. The same issue is happening with Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement factory in Zambia. The factory is currently being fight for at the Lusaka High Court, and one of the claims is made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman and serial entrepreneur with numerous successful businesses under his name. He has established companies like Mahtani Group of Companies, Finsbury Investments and Finance Bank Zambia which are going strong and have made a name for them. At the same time, Dr. Mahtani is regular social workers and has contributed to several NGOs and charitable organisations for the development of the Zambian society.
Despite these successful attempts, Dr. Mahtani has continuously faced conspiracies from jealous individuals. And other times it is the limitations and challenges of the Zambian legal system which results in such a dragging of a simple case. As a result of these limitations and challenges as well as inefficiency of the law and government, the case has been dragged to almost 10 years now. A positive and forward step was taken by the judge when it was announced that the case hearing is closed and final judgment will be shared based on the evidences submitted.
However, the final judgment was entirely shocking as it was given against Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s claims. As such, Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the right steps and immediately appealed to the higher court of Zambia regarding this case and its flawed judgment.
